Fung was invited to be one of the participating artists for the public art project “Once Upon a Goose.” The project asks the artists to come up with a piece of work on the history of Causeway Bay, possibly the busiest shopping and entertainment mecca in Hong Kong. The works are then made into stickers and wrapped around pillars under the Goose Neck Bridge, also a major hub for bus stops.
Fung was instantly attracted by a piece of oral history by Dr. Ting Sun Pao, former chief curator at Hong Kong History Museum. In 1962-3, a penguin used to stroll daily on Paterson Street, a shipping dock at that time. The result was a collage of a strolling penguin and a performance that contrasted the street fifty years ago and today.
